Dark Skies
By Michael Conomy

I’ve walked alone in the darkened city
Trying to find home
When this world comes to its end
Will any body care
Care how I lived this life and where I’ve been

I’ve looked to the sky
And searched for that ray of light
But all I see is the darkness
And the darkness consumes me
Consumes me inside
And all I see is dark skies

When happiness come to me I push it a side
I have nothing but sorrow
burning up inside
My girl I know she loves me from the cradle to the grave
But all I see now is her leaving me in these Dark Skies

I’ve looked to the sky
And searched for that sign from god
But all I see is the darkness
And the darkness consumes me
Consumes me inside
And all I see is dark skies

I fight to find happiness in these dark and lonely times
But in these unsealing wounds
That tear at my soul
All I find are these dark skies
Penetrating My soul

I’ve looked to the sky
And searched for that sign of hope
But all I see is the darkness
And the darkness consumes me
Oh yes it consumes me
Consumes me deep inside
And all I see is are dark skies

Deep grey Dark skies
Painful hating Dark Skies
Tearing at my soul.
My Soul
There tearing at my soul …..
